So lately, I've been feeling nostalgic. Maybe you would call it home-sickness, but I'd rather call it nostalgia because it sounds less pathetic. Maybe I've been listening to too many sad country songs. I've found that no other type of music captures America like a sad country song. Please feel free to send me a list of your favorite sad country songs, I always need new recommendations. Here's a quick top 5 the moment. If I could make you a mix tape, I would.
1.Old Man - Neil Young
2.First Day of My Life – Bright Eyes
3.Doreen – Old 97's
4.New Madrid – Uncle Tupelo
5.Must've Had Your Reasons – Yonder Mountain String Band
Message: If you have been reading this journal but not sending me emails, you should send me a message (or Wint-o-green mints or something) and tell me what's up with you. I'm going to go ahead and call it your duty by reason of some sort of blog social bargain. Warning: if you don't contact me, I'll accuse you of internet stalking.

Nick, I'm leaving you this comment because I don't want you to think that no one reads your blog(seemed like you wanted that assurance!) I really enjoy reading about your adventures and have been living vicariously through them. Pam and your Tulsa Italian class are now plodding reluctantly through congiuntivo tense and I'd like to think that I'll be in your shoes someday and I can impress everyone! In the meantime, I am learning from your experiences - thanks so much for sharing them!

My suggestion for a sad country song is "Crazy" by Patsy Cline. Mom and I are also nostalgic for you, Mr. Nick; Easter morning wasn't the same without you there to do an Easter Egg hunt. The couch in the family room is simply not the same without you snoozing there peacefully with a blanket pulled over your face. Speaking of country music, Mom and I were listening to your "Weathervanes" CD this afternoon. We like it. MMW, look out! Perhaps I should work on designing a logo of some sort for your country band, unless you already have one.
Nick, I'd like to reiterate that I'm incredibly jealous. I went to Ciao to see a guitar-led four-piece play on Saturday. Somehow, I don't think Brookside stacks up well against a medieval building as far as venues go.
OK, the real reason I'm writing this is to say how APPALLED I am that you included Bright Eyes on any top 5 list relating to music, or anything in general. Surely the Italians would agree with me. (?)
